DESIGN

Hoists are designed for all classes of application as per IS-3938. Standard Design is for Class II.

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION

Hoist is assembled from different independent units viz. Hoisting Gear Box, Hoisting Motor with brake, Rope Drum, Electric Control Panel and Travelling Trolley. All these units are separately accessible and promptly disassembled to simplify repairs, reduce maintenance cost and downtime.

MAIN FRAME

M.S. Plates are fastened with number studs to withstand the load of the different independent units attached to it.

WIRE ROPE

Hoisting rope comply with the Indian standards Is:2266. The factor of safety, on the nominal breaking strength of the rope is six.

ROPE DRUM

Grooved Drum, Seamless Pipe of adequate length to be wounded in one/two layer and to provide proper support for the rope to minimise abrasive wear is provided. Drum Shaft revolves on self aligned roller Bearings for ensuring smooth running.

ROPE GUIDE

Rope Guide is in two halves, ensuring easy accessibility. It encircles the Drum completely so that the rope may not uncoil even when the Hoist is in unloaded condition.

MOTOR

Motor are of Squirrel Cage, 40% CDF rating in class B insulation as per IS-325-1970, The unit is an IP 54 dust and damp proof enclosure, flange-mounted to the main frame of the Hoist. When creep speeds are required same is achieved by way of DC Clutch manufactered by NGEF/ Bharat BIJLEE/ GEC/ CROMTON/ own make. Hoist Motor is an HTSC parallel rotor machine. GEAR BOX

Hoist Gear Box has specially treated gears for high wear resistance. Each Geared Shaft assembly is supported on bailor roller bearings, to ensure smooth, low-friction operation, the gear trains are greese lubricated. Also oil immersed Gear Box can be provided on request.

BRAKE

Electromagnetic Fail-safe type brake mounted externally on the rear end of the Hoisting Motor ensuring easily accessibility.

HOOK BLOCK

The Hook Block is tested to 150% of full load before assembly. The rope sheaves are fully guarded with protective steel castings. All sheaves rotate on Ball Bearings.

TROLLEY

It consists of M.S. Plates forming side frame assembled with Runner-Wheels. Runner Wheels are mounted on Double sealed Ball Bearings. Trolley is adjustable for various I Beam sizes

LIMIT SWITCHES

A Limite Switch is built in as one of many safety features preventing accidental over-hoisting and over lowering of the hook block. The trip positions are adjustable to allow correct setting for installation.

ELECTRIC CONTROL PANEL

Controls are mechanically and electrically interlocked to prevent inadvertent operation of opposite motions and are all housed in an IP 54 dust and damp proof enclosure. A low voltage control system of 110 Volts. Minimises electrical hazards for the operator.

GUARANTEE

A Guarantee is provided for the repair and replacement, which proves defective material or workmanship within one year of the sale on Ex. Works Basis. However electrical appliances are not covered in this guarantee. Every BHT Hoist is tested on 125% of its safe working load, before despatch and is issued with a Test Certificate.

Housing
Rigid, robust, torsion resistant housing in high grade cast iron to dampen vibration and resist the heat max. Efficiency offered in most advanced foundry in house. We can fabricate housing cast steel on demand customers.

Gears and pinions
The gears are produced with highest purity on hobbing Machine. The material for the pinion and Gear wheel are made of hard wearing special steel of graded strenght to meet the individual load conditions. The selection of module, footh profile, and material is made in obedience with speeds, ration, and load conditions to give maximum tooth contact and overlap, thus ensuring most favorable meshing and soundless running.

Shafts
Shafts having pinions cut undivided are of heat treated alloy steel bars or alloy steel forging. All other shafts are of heat-treated carbon steel and are finished to high precision tolerance by grinding.

Bearings
Anti-friction bearings of sample size are used throughout to ensure durability. The use of anti friction bearings ensure high capabilities, exactly center distance and proper shaft alignment. Shaft extensions are fitted with high quality seals to prevent oil leakage and dust entry.

Lubrication
The oil level indicator located in the housing is to ensure a proper amount of lubricant in the housing. For ordinary speeds, splash lubrication is provided by gears dipping in oil.

Cooling
The heat produced within the gear units is engaged by a satisfactorily large extraneous area of the housing for higher efficiency additional cooling offered by fans, cooling inside lower housing depending on heat dissipation necessity based on power to be transmitted and ambient temperature.

The lubricating oil used should be straight mineral oil or rearmost pressure (e.P.) oil as specified below. .The first oil change should be mede after about 1000 hrs running or two month which even is earlier. It should be high ranged well refined petroleum oil within the recommended viscosity range it must be neutral in viscosity, no grfit or abrasives should be present. Temperature upto 90âºc. Is harmless to any component. The subsequent changes would be made every 2000 hrs or six monthes which ever is earlier, the opevating temperature should not be excessive.

The size should be selecteed such that the rated H.P. is equal or more than the Consumed H.P

Determine the horse power required for the prime-mover

Try to reduced Input R.P.M. so that required Ratio and size of Gear box should be minimum and Small

Select the Class of duty

Compute the required reduction radio by dividing Input R. P.M. to out put R.P.M.

Example :

See the ration Colum and in the size HB-350 for input R.P.M. of 960 in Class II duty the rated HP is 12.6

As the Consumed HP is 10, the unit HB- 350 will be suitable.

See from Reduction ration table two stage Horizontal gear box type H.B. will be suitable.

Select a unit to tranmit 10 H.P. from 960 RPM electric motor.

For Hoist drive in class II duty crane., Out put R.P.M. is 30. Therefore the required Ration is 32 or (Taking 31.5 Standand)

Our second model counterweight model which managed using 3 or more self-reliant wire ropes that stretched across main traction sheave. The lifts and machines have no positive coupling that ensures greater safety as a slip is permitted whenever there is an counteraction to the lift travel.
